Microchip with GPS tracking for dogs, is there such a thing?

a fellow dog lover mentioned to me there is a new microchip available that also has GPS tracking signal (kind of like the "On Star" in cars) Is this true and if so, can anyone give me more info about it and/or a website? I think this would be a really great advancement in technology and help reunite dogs and their owners that much quicker.
